HISTORY OF THE FIRM

Andel Law was founded in January 2021 in Nairobi, Kenya as Andiva Elvis & Associates . As a result of its fast expanding client base, the Firm established an Office in Nairobi-the Capital City of Kenya. The Firm currently operates in Nairobi with the Nairobi Office acting as the Firm’s Head Office. The firm is looking to expand to Nakuru, Kisumu and Eldoret by end of year 2023. While we have evolved, we are proud of our heritage and continue to uphold the pillars and principles behind our success.

Our Approach: Our focus is to offer simplified and understandable legal services to our clients while upholding professional standards and ethics. We seek to offer our clients a one stop shop for all their legal requirements-however diverse, while at the same time building relationships of mutual trust and respect that remain long after a transaction is complete. We seek to first understand the environment in which our client is operating and only then do we offer innovative and flexible legal services expertly and professionally delivered. While we appreciate the pay we get for the legal services we offer to our clients, our greatest satisfaction is when our clients walk away satisfied of the skill, expertise and warmth that we offered them in the transaction.

Training, Publications and Seminars: To maintain the quality of legal services that we offer to our clients, we arrange various trainings in an effort to remain relevant and ahead of the market. We intend organize seminars and trainings for our clients on diverse issues that affect their businesses and produce publications covering a broad range of legal issues. These publications provide general information and do not constitute legal advice.

Environment & Community: We are committed to supporting the community through offering pro-bono legal services to the needy as well as supporting selected charities and churches. We also seek to improve the environment by considering the effect of our actions on the environment and minimising any negative impacts.

Local Approach: Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya. Our presence in this region of Kenya ensures provision of seamless legal services for all our clients with businesses in the region. Where our client has business in other parts of the country, we will dedicate our staff to travel and serve them in these areas for the duration of the assignment.

International Approach: We recognise that the world is now one big arena and our clients want a one stop solution for their business and legal requirements. To guarantee our local and international clients consistent quality we have developed close associations with leading independent law-firms in Africa and other parts of the world. Where our client has a preferred local counsel, we work with such counsel in a flexible and yet value adding manner.

RECENT WORK & EXPERIENCE

We are regularly instructed by leading corporate and financial institutions on corporate and commercial matters. Our mid-market status ensures that we are easily accessible to all our clients without any need of formalities such as booking appointments while at the same time ensuring that professional standards and ethics are strictly adhered to by our staff at all levels. We maintain an open door policy for all our potential clients in all our offices. This approach has grown our client portfolio tremendously in the last five (5) months. We also interact with our clients regularly through seminars, publications, trainings and related engagements. We are currently handling the following transactions:

Advising a client in the financial services sector on the new agency guidelines by the Central Bank of Kenya in relation to the recently introduced Agent Banking.
Advising a client in the information and research sector on the establishment of an employee share ownership plan (ESOP) for its staff.
Preparation of standard security documents including debenture, charges, loan agreements, powers of attorney for our clients in the financial services sector for adoption by our client’s panel of Advocates.
Advising a client in the microfinance sector on the development of standard security perfection documents.
